What is the smallest amount of backsplash I can purchase? The backsplash sheets are 24" x 48", and one sheet is the smallest amount that can be purchased. A full Abstract sheet in Clay is pictured here. How is the backsplash installed? Liquid nails are generally the easiest and most effective method for installation. Standard nails can be used if there are baseboards in the installation area. The backsplash should not be nailed into sheetrock only. Can the backsplash be cut? Yes, we can cut the sheets per your specifications. Most cuts are done at no charge, but cut-outs for electrical outlets, light switches, etc., are $10 apiece. You can also cut the backsplash yourself with a good pair of sharp tin snips. How do I know how much backsplash I need? Feel free to e-mail or fax your approximate measurements or a diagram for a quote. Of course, there is no obligation for purchase. Are the sheets easy to clean, and can they be installed behind a stove or cooktop? The backsplash is treated with several coats of a flat lacquer for protection, and this also makes for easy cleaning. A damp rag is generally sufficient, although a very mild cleaner could be used if necessary. The backsplash is frequently used behind stoves and cooktops. Does it matter which pattern I choose? The Abstract pattern is the most popular because it is composed of smaller 3" x 3" sections which can easily be cut to specific dimensions. All other patterns are basically 12" x 12" and do not cut down as easily. If you need backsplash at roughly 12", 24" or 36" high, then any pattern would work. No -- 24" x 48" are the largest sheets we carry. However, we often fill multiple-sheet orders -- sometimes for up to 10 sheets cut to specific dimensions -- and the sections can be installed very seamlessly. How do I finish the edges? We do not offer trim at this time, but you should be able to find a functional wood or metal trim at a local home improvement store if you feel it is necessary. Otherwise, a clear caulk would be sufficient for sealing the edges. How much for shipping?
